Why
I Love Sony
Once upon a
time there
was the 1980s, and the 1980s was a time like no other in our history.
It was a time of earnest and tempered efforts, a time of reeling
euphoria, of well learned lessons
that brought this feeling of hope,
hope that we could stave off definitive atomic destruction.
That by using the good we know we possess in us all, we could make a
better way, honor
ourselves as well, like those many before in our
century who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
In Australia we
felt this way, it had been such a brutal, dark and relentless period.
People were tired, they were over it seriously, and no one wanted to go
there at all.
Evolutions of mathematics, the defining of algorithms necessary for
manipulative electrodynamics
design, CAD and a well honed mechanical
industry from the 1950s lead us to a blazing
21st century.
This is why everyone was so quiet about in the 1980s, they were down in
their bunkers and away
in their labs. One of the things that has yet to be accomplished and
done well is
public transport
and if you've ever lived in the metro Perth Western
Australia you'll know what I mean.
Don't get me started on the taxi
service. Huh... what taxi? I caught two buses everyday to school
and
back, through the city, two hour trip each way and half a day on
Saturdays for my art scholarship.
I read a lot and my only saving grace during the latter years of high
school was my walkman, yes a
Sony walkman. Imagine four hours everyday of traveling time, mostly
standing up.
I'm
not counting waiting time people.
I love Sony for this and they probably have forgotten all about it, but
while everyone was excited
about being able to shoot a laser in space
or Nike pumps, I just wanted to get through my much
needed education
without dieing of boredom.
I preferred my solar-back-lit Donkey Kong console to the walkman but
Donkey Kong didn't fit in my
bag or change screens.
My face takes a slightly brushed color when I see the kids with a Sony
PSP.
It reminds me of the Rocketeer, strap on your GPS and rocket pack, you
are off to the Amazon.
Forget all the other consoles, now we got a Sony PSP that does
everything from games, movies,
music and TV to web browsing, video
conversion and conversion software to play almost anything
you want on
it, anything!
Where is mine?!
Let them have their fun, I really needed it.
If you want a little attention, then let me show you a home centre you
can subscribe to and download
all "the everything" you ever wanted. I personally recommend the
personal organizing software, would
have
been a great tool for back then.
We have a lot of recommendations that may interest you around the idea
of technology so if that
sounds general enough to snag your interest
